Senior Coordinator for Outdoor Adventure in the Department of Campus Recreation
The Senior Coordinator for Outdoor Adventure position in the Department of Campus Recreation is responsible for supporting the mission of the university by providing quality outdoor adventure programming, student leader development, and facility management. The position will focus on assisting with supervision of student workers and programs offered at the McLane Student Life Center Rock Wall, Pullin Family Marina, Eastland Lakes Challenge Course, and through the Student Guide Program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as a professional staff member of the Department of Campus Recreation in the Outdoor Adventure Program area and assist in overseeing operations of the McLane Student Life Center Rock Wall and Pullin Family Marina.
- Oversee Rock Wall route setting and rock wall maintenance
- Review and update policies, procedures, and risk management plans for program areas and train staff to educate on those policies and procedures and uphold them
- Purchase, maintenance, and inventory of outdoor recreation equipment
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling & evaluating approximately 40 Outdoor Adventure Student Staff and Supervisors
- Plan and lead day and multi-day adventure trips various outdoor adventure disciplines
- Assist in preparation and training of Trip Leaders
- Facilitate team building programs at the Baylor Challenge Course
- Teach up to 3 Lifetime Fitness Classes for academic credit per semester (20% of job)
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master’s degree is required. Applicable fields of study: Recreation and Leisure Services, Experiential Education, Business Management, or related degree. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree.
- All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong preference will be given to candidates who have industry certifications such as Wilderness First Responder, AMGA Climbing Wall Instructor Provider, Single Pitch Instructor, LNT Master Educator, WEA COE, and ACCT Challenge Course Facilitator Certifications.
